AD TYPES

Available homes are listed on My PagesFind Available Housing.

You’ll see different listing types—besides regular student housing, we also rent out homes to international students via the universities. These are labeled UGOT, CIS, and ISMO and follow different rules than Student Housing.

When you apply for a home and enter the rental process, we’ll guide you through each step with automatic emails and notifications on My Pages. Make sure to follow the given deadlines so you don’t miss anything important!

CIS

Students who are covered by Chalmers’ housing guarantee are mainly fee-paying students and exchange students from partner universities outside Europe.

  • Those covered by the guarantee shall not apply for accommodation before you have been allocated one.
  • Chalmers have agreements with some housing companies, and the housings are distributed randomly.
  • You will only get one offer. If you choose not to answer or turn the offer down, the guarantee is not valid any more, and you have to search for accommodation by yourself. You must accept your offer within a few days.
  • The guarantee is limited to one person (i.e., not partner, nor family).

ISMO

Chalmers offers support to international doctoral students, researchers, and other staff within areas of housing, migration support, relocation and social events and activities through our International Staff Mobility Office (ISMO).

  • You are welcome to contact the team if you have inquiries regarding your relocation to Sweden at ismo.stodet@chalmers.se
  • Chalmers has a limited single-household accommodation stock that can be offered to newly hired international employees in order to help with initial accommodation.
  • ISMO matches and allocates the housing according to the queue.
  • To be registered to the ISMO housing queue contact your department administration.

Note that the demand for initial accommodation is often greater than the supply, thus Chalmers has no accommodation guarantee and can just assist a limited number of new employees.

UGOT

Ugot housing is for exchange students within the Erasmus and Linnaeus Palme programs, as well as to exchange students that come as part of a bilateral agreement. You must be eligible to apply for a Ugot accommodation.

  • As an exchange student, you apply for housing as part of your application for exchange studies at the University of Gothenburg.
  • If you are approved for a student accommodation, the university will send instructions for how to proceed to be able to register and continue the process.
