Because we have many applicants, we are careful to follow the rental process deadlines to ensure fairness for everyone. This means that we do not remove blocks due to applicants not responding in time. It is important for those in an active rental process to keep track of the messages we send so that they do not miss out on a housing opportunity.

The rental process takes a total of 9 days from publication to contract signing for student housing and parking spaces. Express listings take a total of 5 days from publication to contract signing. If you do not receive a contract on the last day, it means the contract has gone to another applicant who has 4 days to sign. After that, you will receive an automatic notification about this.

Each listing specifies whether electricity is included or not.

"Electricity included" means you do not need to arrange your own electricity contract as it is already included in the rent.

"Electricity not included" means you need to establish an electricity network contract with Göteborgs Energi and an electricity supply contract with a provider of your choice.

"Electricity consumption added" means the costs for electricity are added to your rent but handled by SGS. You do not need to arrange your own electricity contract.

If heating and hot water charges are added to the rent, it will be stated in the listing text. If there is no mention of additional charges, it means that heating and hot water are included in the rent.

Yes, you are welcome to share your apartment with a partner or friend. It is perfectly fine to live with someone who is not studying as long as the contract holder takes at least 15 credits per semester.

It is not allowed to have multiple people living in our single rooms with group kitchens as these are intended for one tenant.

You can stay for a maximum of 6 years as a student with SGS plus an extra 4 years as a doctoral student.

The foundation's purpose is to meet the housing needs of students on site at the University of Gothenburg or Chalmers University of Technology. This means that we do not accept distance courses or programs.

If you are starting your studies in the fall, in August/September, you can get a rental agreement starting on June 1st at the earliest. If you are starting your studies in January, you can get a rental agreement starting on December 1st at the earliest.

You can accept all your offers but can only be assigned one of them. It is not possible to rank your responses if you have received multiple offers.
